Being a painter could mean a lot of different things, but what it means to Robert Frank Abplanalp is reflecting nature through a new nature.

"I like designing something from the ground up through a variety of techniques, some controlled and some not as controlled. In this way, I get a variety of results, some expected and some that are more surprising. Needless to say, I never get bored.

After doing the college thing I decided I wanted to be a painter. I didn't know how to do that, but I just wanted to. I didn't want to be anything else... So I moved into a loft apartment with concrete floors and brick walls that had no set rules in regard to the space's use. It was there that I started experimenting with paint.

Over the years I've been showing and selling my work both in person, as well as online. I started this Etsy shop quite a while ago with the intention of making my artwork available to people who don't happen to live close by. The majority of my sales occur in person and I am often asked to remove items from this shop so that buyers can buy them offline. I set up this Etsy shop with the hope that I will continue to broaden my audience, and I always greatly appreciate it when I find out that someone new has discovered my work."
